Troy Football Lunch with Legends Panel Announced; T-Day Activities Finalized

TROY, Ala. – Troy Football started spring practice this week under first-year head coach Gerad Parker, and on Thursday, Troy Athletics finalized plans for T-Day Weekend, including the star-studded panel for the annual Lunch with Legends prior to kickoff of T-Day, on Saturday, April 27.
T-Day, sponsored by The Vance Law Firm, will kickoff in The Vet at 2 p.m. and is part of an event-filled weekend on campus. The day opens with Lunch with Legends at 11 a.m., followed by the free Kids Camp at noon and the Athletics Yard Sale at 1 p.m. The yard sale takes place on the West Concourse of The Vet, featuring jerseys from football and other sports, helmet decals, shirts, shorts, pants, hoodies, shoes, cleats and bats.
Troy Football will hold a Letterwinners Social on Friday evening (April 26, 5 p.m.) before T-Day at the Troy softball series opener against South Alabama. The social will take place behind the left field wall with the traditional fish fry and refreshments.
Game two of the Troy and South Alabama softball series has been moved back to 4 p.m. to allow fans to travel across campus to the Troy Softball Complex following T-Day.
Lunch with Legends
Tickets for the event are just $30 and include lunch, drinks and admission to the guest panel. Lunch with Legends has sold out each of the first two years, and tickets are again expected to be in limited supply. Tickets for the 2024 Lunch with Legends can be purchased by visiting TroyTrojans.com/LunchWithLegends. The event runs from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and takes place in the Stadium Club at The Vet.
Rick Rhoades was the head coach of the 1987 Troy State NCAA Division II National Championship team and the defensive coordinator of the 1984 title squad. A member of the Troy University Sports Hall of Fame and AHSAA Hall of Fame, Rhoades led the Trojans to a 28-7-1 record in his three seasons as head coach, including a 22-2 Gulf South Conference record.
Mike Turk helped lead Troy State to the 1984 and 1987 NCAA Division II National Championship as the team's quarterback. A Troy University Sports Hall of Fame member, Turk finished his career as the program's second-leading rusher and was named the Gulf South Freshman of the Year, Alabama Sports Writers Association Athlete of the Year and Small College Athlete of the Year.
Lawrence Tynes helped lead Troy State to a pair of Southland Conference titles and two trips to the NCAA FCS Playoffs. A two-time Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants and member of the Troy University Sports Hall of Fame, Tynes ranks among Troy leaders in single-season and career field goals and extra-points.
Willie Tullis was a two-time Gulf South Conference selection and earned Kodak All-America honors, Troy State's first-ever All-American at the quarterback position. A member of the Troy University Sports Hall of Fame, Tullis was Troy's signal caller from 1978-81 and enjoyed an eight-year NFL career following his time at Troy.
Jordan Chunn is Troy's all-time leader with 47 career rushing touchdowns. A two-time All-Sun Belt selection, MegaChunn finished his career with 3,124 rushing yards, the third-most in program history. A Freshman All-American, Chunn rushed for 191 yards in Troy's victory at LSU and helped lead the Trojans to the 2017 Sun Belt Championship.
