Troy Prepares to Defend Their Home Turf Against Auburn in Midweek Matchup

Troy, Ala. – The Troy softball team plays instate opponent Auburn at the Troy Softball Complex in tomorrow's midweek matchup. The Trojans enter this contest with momentum at an all-time high after six of their last eight games, including two straight against conference rival Coastal Carolina.
Troy's (22-9, 2-1 SBC) offense has been red hot after being blanked by Chattanooga on March 8. The Trojans have scored at least eight runs in six of their last seven games.
Anslee Finch has been a driving factor in Troy's recent offensive success. The senior outfielder has a .500 batting average over the last seven games. Finch mashed three home runs and recorded seven RBIs over that span.
Libby Baker has served as the Trojan's ace this season and is on pace to have the best season of her career. The fifth-year senior bolsters a 3.58 ERA and has limited her opponents to a .221 batting average over her 74.1 innings of work this season.
Auburn (14-6-1) is looking to bounce back after struggling the past two weekends. The Tigers enter this contest after dropping four of their last six games against No. 12 Missouri and No. 20 Arkansas.
Maddie Penta has been phenomenal in the circle for the Tigers this season. The senior from Chesapeake City, Maryland bolsters a 1.28 ERA and an 8-4 record through 13 starts this season. Penta has punched out 106 batters in just 82 innings and has limited opposing batters to a .163 average.
Amelia Lech leads Auburn's offense with plenty of power. The junior catcher has mashed seven homers with 21 RBIs, 37 total bases and a .755 slugging percentage this season.
Notables
· Tomorrow's matchup is the 32nd between the two programs. Troy has a 7-22-2 record against the Tigers with four of those wins coming at home. The last time the Trojans won was in 2012 when Troy upset the No. 12 Auburn Tigers at the Troy Softball Complex, 7-1.
· Troy's offense has been special to start the season. The Trojans have a team .326 batting average, a .922 OPS, 33 home runs, 175 RBIs and 408 total bases through 31 games. This high-powered offense overcame a six-run deficit just a few days ago and has scored double digit runs in nine different games this season.
