Women’s Tennis Closes Fall Season with Roberta Alison Fall Classic

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to play at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility for the Roberta Alison Fall Classic from Friday, Nov. 1 to Saturday, Nov. 2.
"This weekend's tournament is the perfect culmination of the fall schedule," head coach Rawia Elsisi said. "It's a prestigious tournament we are happy to be a part of. I can't wait to see our girls compete one final time in the final and come out with some wins."
Play starts at 9 a.m. on Friday, with three rounds of singles and three rounds of doubles being played. The Trojans will face tough competition from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, NC State, South Alabama and ETSU.

San Marcos Summary
After traveling to San Marcos, Texas, last weekend, the Trojans went 10-4 in singles and 2-4 in doubles. Valeriia Avdeeva shined, going 3-0 in singles play. The junior beat opponents from Texas State, St. Mary's and ULM over the tournament and capped off the invitational with a thrilling 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 win over ULM's Lucia Fernandez.
Troy went 6-3 in singles play against Sun Belt Conference opponents. Avdeeva, Maria Guirguis, Emilia Namyslo and Hagar Ramadan-Amin beat conference foes. Round one saw the most success overall for the Trojans as all five won their respective singles matches.
The doubles pairings of Avdeeva and Guirguis, along with Gabrielle Leslie and Namyslo, went 1-2. Avdeeva and Guirguis dominated a team from ULM in round one, 6-1, while Leslie and Namyslo beat a pair from Texas State in round two, 6-4.
