Women’s Golf Wraps Fall Season at The Ally

TROY, Ala. – Coming off a fourth-place finish last week, the Troy women's golf team hits the links for the last time this fall with a trip to The Ally, hosted by Mississippi State at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.

The field includes three teams ranked inside the top 20 nationally in No. 3 Mississippi State, No. 11 Vanderbilt and No. 19 Auburn, in addition to Sun Belt rivals ULM, Old Dominion, Southern Miss and James Madison.

Troy finished fourth in the 17-team field at the Lady Red Wolves Fall Classic last week as Victoria Stutts led the Trojans as she shot 1-over and finished in a tie for third place, while Laura Fangmeyer tied for sixth with a 2-over for the week.

Fangmeyer has paced the Trojans this season, averaging 0.80 strokes vs. par over her 10 rounds and is responsible for three of Troy's five individual rounds under par. Stutts has seen all eight of her rounds count towards the team card and has finished inside the top 10 in two of her three events this year.

Katelynn Altese recorded her first round under par this season, with a 2-under in the second round at the Lady Red Wolf and ranks fourth on the Trojans squad with a 4.80 score vs. par, while Alyssa Mercado checks in third at 3.63 vs. par. After missing last week's event, Manya Saini (5.71) returns to Troy's lineup this week at The Ally.

Troy will play off the No. 10 tee to start Monday's action beginning at 9:15 a.m. along with Sam Houston State and UAB.
