TROY, Ala. – Troy volleyball got back to its winning ways on Friday night as it ended its four-match winless streak with a 3-0 sweep of Louisiana in Trojan Arena.
Troy (8-9, 3-4 SBC) played good defense all night, as it held Louisiana (5-11, 1-4 SBC) to .133 (22-11-83) hitting. On the other side, the Troy offense was dominant early and finished the night hitting .231 (49-18-134).
Leading the Trojans once again was star outside hitter Tori Hester, who recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 19 kills and 10 digs. On her fourth dig of the match, she became just the fourth player in program history with 1,500 kills and 1,000 digs, and just the second in the rally scoring era (Cheyenne Hayes). She is now fourth all-time in kills (1,528) and 12th all-time in digs (1,006). Her streak of matches with double-digit kills is now at 39, which is the longest active known streak in Division I women's volleyball.
Amiah Butler also had a good night for the Trojans, as she was second on the team in kills with 14 on .214 (14-5-42) hitting. Butler also had a team-high three block and added two aces.
The Trojans offense was more spread out as a unit, as Kalina Calvillo had six kills and Olivia Kwiatkowski had five. Janelle Stuempfig and Jordan Sinness set the table for the offensive success, as Stuempfig had 26 assists and Sinness had 15.

Set 3: Troy 25-23
Louisiana had its best offensive set in the final frame, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Trojans high-volume attack. The Ragin' Cajuns hit .233 and held Troy to .193. However, Troy recorded 57 swings compared to Louisiana's 30 and had nine more kills than the Ragin' Cajuns. Hester had 10 of her kills in the final frame, while Butler had seven.
