Troy Soccer Heads to South Alabama for Sunday Night Showdown

TROY, Ala. -Â The Troy soccer team heads south this weekend for a Sunday night showdown with rival South Alabama in Mobile, Ala.Â
The Trojans are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Sun Belt West's top team Texas State and enter the matchup with a 4-6-2 record and an 0-4-1 record in conference play. The loss to Texas State featured the Trojans' first goal of conference play on a corner kick by Dolce Villaflor, breaking a four-match scoreless streak. Â
Jiselle Daniels led Troy with three shots against Texas State. The redshirt junior has been among the top shot takers in the Sun Belt since returning from injury, ranking third in the conference with 17 shots and tying for third with seven shots on goal. Â
South Alabama comes in at 8-4-1 with a 3-1-1 conference record to put them second in the Sun Belt West. Â
Kickoff on Sunday is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.Â
