Troy Volleyball Heads To Holiday Inn- University Plaza Invitational

TROY, Ala. – Troy volleyball heads to Bowling Green, Ky., to compete in the Holiday Inn- University Plaza Invitational Friday. The Trojans will play two games, starting with Western Kentucky Friday morning at 11 a.m. and continue play with College of Charleston at 5 p.m.
The Trojans end the tournament against Arkansas on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The game against Western Kentucky will be broadcasted on ESPN+ and live stats for all three games will be available at TroyTrojans.com.
This is the last tournament of the non-conference schedule, before Troy has its home opener against Alabama next week.
Amiah Butler leads the Trojan offense with 60 of the squad's 191 kills. Butler is followed by Julia Brooks with 47 and Tori Hester with 44.

Western Kentucky
Troy and WKU have faced each other 22 times. Western Kentucky hails from Conference USA, against Conference USA, the Trojans are 20-70 (.222). The first meeting between the two programs hails from the 1993 season, which resulted in a loss for the Trojans, 0-3. The most recent meeting came 10 years ago in the 2013 season, where the Trojans won 3-0.
The Lady Toppers are led by fifth-year senior Paige Briggs, who has tallied 66 kills and junior Kaylee Cox who follows closely with 64 kills. Callie Bauer has tallied 245 assists, averaging 10.21 assists per set in the seven games the Lady Toppers have played this season.
College of Charleston
The College of Charleston hails from the Coastal Athletic Association. This will be the first meeting between the two programs and the first time Troy volleyball will face the CAA.
Lexi Wierzbicki leads the Lady Toppers with 91 kills, followed by Anna Smith with 78 kills. Hannah Scott and Jasmine Goei both have over 100 assists from the eight games the Cougars have played.
Arkansas
The Trojans are 4-31 (.117) against the Southeastern Conference. This will be the first meeting of the programs. This is the second time the Trojans will face a member of the SEC this season, after meeting South Carolina at the net last week.
Jillian Gillen leads the No. 17 Razorbacks with 100 kills, followed by Taylor Head, who is ten behind Gillen with 90 kills. The two combined for a total 190 kills of the squad's 297 kills. Arkansas is currently 4-2, with their two losses coming from ranked No. 1 Wisconsin.
