TROY, Ala. – Troy Softball and head coach Eric Newell unveiled the fall ball schedule Friday afternoon, hosting six home games and traveling to a pair of power-five opponents, Auburn and Florida State.
"We are all super excited to get the fall season underway in a few short weeks," Newell said. "The schedule begins with last year's NJCAA national runner-up, Northwestern Florida. The fall includes a tough road test at Auburn and a tilt against national runner-up Florida State."
Fall ball kicks off against Northwestern Florida on Sept. 20 at the Troy Softball Complex before a nine-day hiatus ends on Sept. 29 with Gulf Coastal Community College coming to town.
Next, Troy takes a trip to War Eagle territory to play Auburn for the third time in 2023 on Oct. 1 with the first road and power-five match of the fall schedule.
Troy returns for two games at the Troy Softball Complex with Pensacola State on Wednesday, Oct 11—and Snead College on Friday, Oct 13.
October 18 sees the Trojans travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to take on the national championship runners-up, Florida State. This meeting gives Troy a chance at redemption after falling to the Seminoles in February 2-1.
The fall season ends at the Troy Softball Complex when Troy welcomes Chipola on Oct. 18. Enterprise Community College marks the fall ball finale on Oct. 25 for their first meeting.
"Every fall season is important, but this particular fall seems even more crucial as we have welcomed several new additions," Newell said. "We look forward to the challenge and hope the Trojan nation will come out and catch some games."
