Softball Signees Dominate Alabama/Georgia All-State Teams

TROY, Ala. – Coming off a successful first season under head coach Eric Newell, Troy Softball is built for the future thanks to a strong recruiting class that features multiple prep players of the year and all-state selections.

Alyssa Faircloth was named the Alabama 7A Pitcher of the Year after she finished the season fourth nationally with 402 strikeouts, 33rd with four no-hitters and 97th with her 21 victories in the circle. The Tuscaloosa County High School star posted a 21-6 record to go along with a 0.92 ERA in 182 innings of work. She didn't allow an earned run in 17 of her 32 appearances and held opponents to an .092 batting average.

Becca Leigh Chadwick earned 4A first team honors after leading Northside High School to the state semifinals. She hit at a .512 clip with 12 doubles, 23 home runs and 65 RBIs, plus posting a 1.825 OPS. Her home run tally ranked eighth nationally, while her 65 RBIs were the 53rd most in the country. Chadwick finished her high school career with 39 doubles and 45 home runs in 150 games.

Savannah Money also earned 4A first team honors following her senior season at Ashford High School where she posted a 20-10 record with a 1.22 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 280 strikeouts. At the dish, she hit .425 with 11 home runs and 10 doubles, plus stole bases on 35-of-38 attempts.

Makaley Boswell took home second team 4A honors after batting .563 with 16 doubles, six triples and nine home runs at Geneva High School. She was also a perfect 39-of-39 in stolen base attempts, in addition to posting a 13-3 record with three saves, a 1.56 ERA and 147 strikeouts in 103.3 innings in the circle.

Bekah Johnson earned Georgia 1A first team all-state honors after hitting .488 with six home runs and 25 RBIs during the state's fall season. She was intentionally walked 11 times throughout the season and finished her career as the Bryan County career home run record holder. Johnson was named the region player of the year and finished as a three-time all-state first team selection.

Additionally, Jillian Williams is coming off a senior season in which she hit .431 with 16 doubles, two home runs, 30 RBIs and a .484 on-base percentage. She was named to the Georgia AAAA all-state team in addition to earning GHSA Region 4-4A Player of the Year honors.
