Troy Tracks to Jacksonville for NCAA East Preliminary

TROY, Ala. – Troy track & field embarks on its postseason journey as Javon Osbourne, Biniosa Ezukuse, Cole Stewart and Jaggerd Moore prepare for the NCAA East Preliminary at Jax Track in Hodges Stadium from May 24-26.
Stewart and Osbourne start Troy off on Wednesday, competing in the javelin (10:30 a.m.) and shot put (7 p.m.) events, respectively. Thursday is Ezukuse's day to shine as she is the sole competitor at 7 p.m. in the shot put. The final day of the preliminaries is Friday as Osbourne competes in the discus event at 1 p.m. before Moore at 2:30 p.m.

All four Trojans locked themselves into the preliminary rounds on May 18 when the NCAA announced the top 48 competitors in each event.
Ezukuse will be the sole competitor on the women's side as the 36th-ranked thrower in the shot put event. The junior broke the program record in the event twice at the Samford Challenge (15.34m) and Crimson Tide Invitational (15.65m) while positioned on the podium four times.
The discus and shot put events will have Osbourne representing Troy after ranking 13th and 25th, respectively. At 6-4, Osbourne holds the most podium finishes on the roster with nine on five gold, three silver and one bronze medal. His clinching moment for the discus event came at 58.47m at the South Florida Invitational, while the shot put came at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships with a mark of 18.40m.
With six podium finishes (two first, three second, one third) in the javelin throw, Stewart returns to the NCAA East Preliminary for the second straight season. He's ranked as the No. 30 thrower in the event after a 67.55m throw at the SBC Outdoor Championship.
Ranked No. 29 in the high jump, Moore is 1-for-1 with NCAA bids as the only freshman for Troy. He reached the peak of the 2023 season twice (2.10m) at the Tiger Track Classic to open the season and the Crimson Tide Invitational. In 2023, Moore has two first and second-place finishes.
All athletes must finish in the top 12 for their respective event to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Austin, Texas, on June 7-10.
