Troy Pauses Sun Belt Play for Rematch with No. 19 Auburn

TROY, Ala. – A pause in Sun Belt play pits Troy in a rematch against No. 19-ranked Auburn on Wednesday night in the Jane B. Moore Field – first pitch is at 6 p.m.
Troy (28-10-1, 9-2-1 SBC) looks for redemption for its last game against Coastal, where the final score was 4-0 for the first loss since March 24 and the previous matchup against the Tigers (29-12, 7-5 SEC) that ended 11-0.

For the fourth straight series to open Sun Belt play, the Trojans were victorious overall, going 2-1 on the weekend against Coastal Carolina. However, the Chanticleers progressed over the three games, going from being blanked 9-0 to blanking Troy 4-0 with an 8-7 classic in between.
Kelly Horne had herself a day on Thursday's doubleheader with four hits in six at-bats for four runs batted in. Once again, the stats showed that homers are pivotal for a Troy win, blasting one in games one and two from Libby Baker and Taylor McKinney while having none in game three.

The Tigers have faced off against a ranked SEC opponent in their last four games, splitting them 2-2. Auburn stands as one of eight Southeastern Conference teams to be ranked in the top 25, sitting fourth in the league standings.
