Women’s Golf Wraps Day One at Bama Beach Bash

GULF SHORES, Ala. – Troy struggled with tough conditions in Sunday's opening round of the Bama Beach Bash held at the Gulf Shores Golf Club. The Trojans are in 14^th place following the first of three rounds.

ShaeLee Scarberry carded four birdies on the day, tied for the most in the field, and she is tied for second on the par-3 holes at 1-under. Troy shot 32-over par on the day but find itself only 14 shots back of a top-five finish.

Scarberry is tied for 22^nd place and ended the day on a positive note with birdies on two of the final six holes to finish with a 5-over 77. Laura Fangmeyer and Elisabeth Preus carded Troy's two other birdies on the day; Fangmeyer is tied for 35^th place at 7-over, and Preus is tied with Jillian Friyia for 58^th place at 10-over par. Bruna Roqueta shot 14-over and is tied for 68^th place.

Teams continue play Monday with the second round; Troy hits the course beginning at 8:09 a.m. along with Murray State and UAB.
