Track and Field Kicks Off Outdoor Season with Tiger Track Classic

TROY, Ala. – One month after the conclusion of the indoor season, the Troy track and field opens its outdoor season in-state (Auburn, Ala.) at the Tiger Track Classic on Friday and Saturday.

The Trojans kick off the season at the Hutsell-Rosen Track on Friday at 2 p.m. with the men's hammer throw and ending at 8:05 p.m. with the men's 5,000m. Then, Saturday kicks off at 11:30 a.m. with the men's high jump before the men's 4x400m closes out the day at 4:05 p.m.

Indoor Recap
The indoor season wrapped up at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships, where Lauren Locke continued her impressive run in the women's 1-mile to a new school record and personal best at 4:57.70 for sixth. Shanyah Washington joined her with a sixth-place finish in the women's 60m with a time of 7.46.

The men's side hasn't competed since the Bulldog Open on Feb. 11. That day, Julian Martin-Rogers broke through for a first-place finish in the men's 60m hurdles, coming across the finish line at 8.11. Eugene Vickers came up short of his fellow Trojan in the 60m hurdles for silver at 8.24.
