Â
TROY, Ala. – No. 19 Auburn came into Wednesday night's game at Troy as one of the nation's top offensive and pitching teams in the country, and it showed as the Tigers defeated Troy, 11-0, in front of the fifth-largest crowd in Troy Softball Complex history (1,822).
Â
Auburn (16-1) jumped on Troy (15-6) early for three runs in the first and added six runs in the seventh to make the score more lopsided than the middle innings of the game represented.

Maddie Penta (9-0) entered the game having not allowed an earned run on the season for the Tigers and left the same way after striking out 10 Troy batters and allowing just one hit in five innings of work.
Â
The Tigers scored a pair of unearned runs off Troy starter Leanna Johnson (7-2) during her three innings of work as Johnson allowed four total runs on three hits in her outing. Heading into the 6-run seventh inning, Troy's pitchers had limited Auburn's powerful hitters to just five runs – three earned – on four hits.
Â
Carlee McCondichie led Auburn, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored, while Axe Milanowski hit a pinch-hit 3-run home run in the sixth inning. Anslee Finch was responsible for Troy's lone hit of the game.
Â
Troy travels to Jacksonville, Fla., this weekend for the JU/UNF Invitational, where the Trojans will play a pair of games against Jacksonville and North Florida and one against Charleston Southern.
