TROY, Ala. – It's a busy weekend for Troy track and field as they wrap up the regular season with a pair of meets beginning with the Music City Challenge on Friday, February 10, and the Bulldog Open on February 11.
The Music City Challenge will take place in Nashville, Tenn. From the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center. Troy is one of 48 teams participating among schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Oho State, and Texas Tech.
This will be the second straight year the Trojans will send athletes to compete in the Bulldog Open, which will be held from the Birmingham Crossplex on Saturday.
Last season Troy had a strong showing in Birmingham, finishing with nine top-five finishes. Javon Osbourne secured the Trojan's lone first-place finish in the men's shot-put event and will be looking to repeat, having already set a school record in the event this season.
At least one event at every single meet this season has seen a Trojan finish in the first place. Both men's and women's 4x400m relay teams will look to repeat their performance last week as they each took home first, as did Shanyah Washington and Naveyh Frost in the women's 200m.
Jaggered Moore has been consistent all season in the men's high jump as he will look to earn his fourth first-place finish.
Both meets will give the Trojans one last opportunity to prepare for the Sun Belt Indoor Track and Field Championships two weeks from now.
