COVINGTON, La. – ShaeLee Scarberry continued her hot start to the spring season, firing the fifth-lowest round in program history with a 4-under 67 as she is second place following 36 holes at the Tchefuncta Invitational. Troy is fifth as a team following Monday's two rounds and just six shots back of second.

Scarberry's 67 in the second round was the lowest of the day by any of the 44 golfers in the field and followed a 1-over 72 from her opening round. She is three strokes back of Yedam Lee from Toledo on the individual leaderboard.

The Troy senior blew away the field with 10 birdies over her two rounds, three better than Lee, who ranks second. Scarberry opened her second round with birdies on four of her first five holes before making the turn at 2-over par. She rallied back with birdies on No. 14 and the 18^th for her fifth round this year in the 60s.

Southern Miss leads the field at 15-over par as a team, while South Alabama is 12 shots back in second place and Little Rock is third at 29-over par. Troy shot 33-over as a team on Monday: 18-over in the first round and 15-over in the second.

Elisabeth Preus is off to her best start of the season, checking in at 10^th place with rounds of 74 and 76 on the day. She carded three overall birdies and is among the tournament leaders with 22 pars.

Coming off a school-record performance, along with Scarberry, Laura Fangmeyer is tied for 23^rd place at 13-over par with three birdies on her card, while Bruna Roqueta and Katelynn Altese are tied for 31^st place at 15-over par. Samantha Straight picked up a birdie on the par-5 11^th on her first trip through the course and is in 40^th place heading into Tuesday's final round.

Troy will play the final round alongside Toledo and Georgia State, meaning Scarberry and Lee will be in a grouping together battling for the individual title. Groups hit the course at 8 a.m. in a shotgun start.
