TROY, Ala. – Coming off the best performance in school history, the Troy women's golf team is back in action Monday and Tuesday in the Tchefuncta Invitational at the Tchefuncta Country Club in Covington, La. Teams play 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Senior ShaeLee Scarberry and freshman Laura Fangmeyer both etched their names into the Troy record book last week, shooting a 6-under 207 to finish in a tie for fourth place. Their 207 ranks as the lowest individual 54-hole score in program history, while their 138 after 36 holes ranks as the fourth-best in program history.
Troy's 854 at The Atlantic shattered the school record by 12 shots, while the Trojans' 563 after 36 holes broke the program record by three shots. Additionally, Troy's opening two rounds ranked third and fourth in program history.
Scarberry leads the Trojans with a 1.07 score vs. par for the year, and her four rounds in the 60s are best on the team. Fangmeyer is close behind with a 1.50 score vs. par on the year, with two rounds in the 60s and five rounds under par.
Bruna Roqueta enters the week with a 3.27 score vs. par on the year and with one round under par after shooting 8-over last week at The Atlantic, while Samantha Straight was even through two rounds last week and has a 4.17 mark for the year.
Elisabeth Preus will make her fourth appearance of the season, and she carries a 3.89 score vs. par into the week. Freshman Katelynn Altese, who is third on the team with three rounds under par, will play as an individual.
