TROY, Ala. – Troy volleyball hosts its final homestand against Georgia Southern in a two-match series on Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m. in Trojan Arena. Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN+ and Troy will honor its seniors before the match on Friday.
The Trojan (13-11, 11-3 SBC) offense continues to look to Tori Hester and Janelle Stuempfig for guidance. Over the weekend, Hester posted 41 kills and comfortably sits ranked second across the league in kills and points, averaging 4.65 kills per set and 5.49 points per set.
Stuempfig dished out 81 assists against Texas State. She leads the Sun Belt in assists, averaging 11.02 per set.
Maleah Howe has been a spark off the bench for the Trojans in the last three matches. Last weekend against Texas State, she tallied 14 kills through the series.
After the series against Texas State, the Trojans are ranked second in the west heading into the final conference matchup, ahead of the conference tournament next week.
Under head coach Josh Lauer, the Trojans have played well at home over the last five years, posting a 43-14 record. This season, the Trojans have only dropped 11 sets out of eight matches played in Trojan Arena.
The Trojans are set to honor lone senior Julia Brooks during Friday night's match. Brookes, in her time at Troy, has broken multiple program records. Last season, she became the all-time career record holder with 408 blocks. She is the only Trojan to reach the career milestone of 1,000 kills and 400 blocks.
