Troy Women's Golf Ventures South for Jupiter Invitational

Troy, Ala. – Troy women's golf continues its fall stretch on Monday morning as it travels to the two-day Jupiter Women's Invite at the Jonathan's Landing Golf Club in Jupiter, Fla.
Hosted by Florida Atlantic, the tournament will feature eight teams, including Florida Gulf Coast, Western Carolina and Stetson. The tournament tees off on Monday, Oct. 9, and will continue through Tuesday, Oct. 10. The lineup for the Trojans includes Alyssa Mercado, Laura Fangmeyer, Bruna Roqueta, Katelynn Altese and Brinson Hall. Meanwhile, Samantha Straight will be competing individually.

What Happened in Hoover?
Mercado looks to continue her momentum going into Jupiter, where the junior finished with 10 birdies and played for a combined 4-under par to finish second overall at the Hoover Invite.
The Trojans finished strong in the third round, shooting the best in the field at 291 to propel them from fifth to second. Mercado and Jillian Friyia led them on the last day, shooting 71 each to maintain under par.
Last Year
At Jonathan's Landing last year, Roqueta led the team, with the now-junior finishing 10th overall, shooting a 73 in the third round and 217 combined throughout the tournament.
The then-freshmen led the Trojans on day two, with Altese, Fangmeyer and Friyia all shooting below 75. Overall, The Trojans finished third with 5 top-25 individual performances. On the second day, they shot the lowest round of any school on the field, netting 284.
