Mercado Leads Troy Following Day One of Jupiter Invitational

JUPITER, Fla. – Alyssa Mercado shot matching rounds of 3-over to lead the Troy women's golf team in Monday's opening two rounds of the Jupiter Women's Invitational at the Jonathan's Landing Golf Club. Troy sits in eighth place following the opening day of play.
Mercado is tied for 14th place following 36 holes after shooting 73 in both rounds on the par-70 course. She carded three birdies in her second round, all after making the turn. Laura Fangmeyer is five shots back of Mercado in a tie for 27th place after shooting 8-over in the opening round before rebounding with a pair of birdies to shoot 73 in the afternoon.
Troy struggled as a team in the opening round, shooting 31-over par, but bounced back to shoot 20-over in round two. The Trojans find themselves two shots back of Stetson for seventh place in the eight-team field.
Playing as an individual, Samantha Straight is tied for 31st place after shooting 2-over in the morning and 10-over in round two, while Bruna Roqueta and Katelynn Altese are separated by one shot in ties for 37th and 40th, respectively, and Brinson Hall is tied for 43rd place.
Troy closes out play Tuesday morning with the final 18 holes.
