Troy Women’s Tennis Heads to ITA Southern Regional

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team heads to Baton Rouge, La., for the ITA Southern Regional at the LSU Tennis Complex and LSU UREC Tennis Courts. The tournament starts on Thursday, Oct. 5, and finishes on Monday, Oct. 9.
Play starts on Thursday with the first and second rounds of singles qualifying before moving into doubles qualifying.
Olivia Elliott, Valeriia Avdeeva, Emilia Namyslo, Leena Metwally and Gabrielle Leslie are all scheduled to take part in the singles qualifying.
All eight Trojans are also taking place in doubles qualifying, slated to start Thursday evening.
The four duos are comprised of:
• Kristina Kukaras and Maria Guirguis
• Olivia Elliott and Valeriia Avdeeva
• Hagar Ramadan-Amin and Emilia Namyslo
• Gabrielle Leslie and Leena Metwally
Kukaras, Ramadan-Amin and Guirguis are in the singles main draw, which is set to start on Friday morning.
The Trojans are coming off a strong showing at the Samford Fall Invitational, where they went 12-12 in singles and 7-5 in doubles. Avdeeva and Elliott led the way in singles, as each posted a 2-1 record. In doubles, three of the four Troy pairings went 2-1.
