Troy Keeps Historic Streak Alive with Sweep of ULM

Troy, Ala. – Troy volleyball kept its historic winning streak alive with a 3-1 (25-18, 16-25, 25-17, 25-21) sweep of ULM inside the Fant-Ewing Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.
Tori Hester commanded the Troy (12-8, 10-0 SBC) offense with 18 kills, a pair of aces and 12 digs. She was followed by Amiah Butler, who racked up 15 kills and one dig to extend Troy's overall win streak to 11.
Troy led in the fourth set at 22-16 when the Warhawks rallied behind Madeline Villarreal to get the deficit to 23-20. Butler quickly laid down back-to-back kills to close the door, sealing the sweep.
Defensively, Jaci Mesa led the Trojans with 13 digs and an ace, while Julia Brooks took control of the net, recording five blocks. Janelle Stuempfig dished out 45 assists while tallying two blocks.
Brynn Botkin led ULM (4-20, 0-10 SBC) with a double-double of 12 kills and 14 digs. At the net, Kylie Stehlin led the Warhawks with five blocks.
