TROY, Ala. – The Trojans will look to carry over strong performances from the Vulcan Invite last weekend as they head east to Columbia, South Carolina, for the Carolina Challenge from Friday, January 20-21st.
Some of the athletes that Troy will be competing with come from Coastal Carolina, Davidson, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Tennessee, and Wake Forest.
The challenge gets started with the women's weight throw and men's shot put at 10 a.m. as Javon Osbourne is coming off, setting the school record last week with a mark of 17.43m.
Other field events taking place on Friday include both men's and women's long jump, triple jump, and women's shot put at 2 p.m. Trow saw three top-five finishes last week in the women's shot put led by Binosa Ezukuse, who finished second after matching her personal record with a mark of 14.22m.
On the track side of the meet, the 3k, mile, 60m, and 60m hurdles, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 4x4 will all be run throughout the day.
Saturday will hold many of the finals for the events as the Trojans once again hope to make their presence felt after 21 athletes placed in the top five of their event last week.
