Men’s Tennis Hosts AUM in Friday Doubleheader

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team opens the home portion of its 2023 schedule on Friday with a doubleheader against AUM at the Lunsford Tennis Complex; matches are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and admission is free.

Troy (1-1) split its opening two dual matches over the weekend, losing to Miami and defeating Binghamton in Coral Gables. Friday's doubleheader marks the first of a four-match homestand for head coach Rolando Vargas' club.

Carles Anton and Vito Llinares are both undefeated so far this spring in singles after winning their matches against Binghamton on Sunday and battling their Miami opponents to second-set ties when the match was called.

Anton's victory was the 51^st in just 60 career dual singles matches over his four-year Troy career, while Llinares improved to 47-14 during dual matches.

The matches will be the first of the spring for AUM, which was ranked among the top 50 NCAA Division II teams for the majority of the 2022 season.
