Softball Adds Jillian Williams to Signing Class

TROY, Ala. – Troy softball head coach Eric Newell announced Thursday the addition of one of the top players in the state of Georgia to Troy's 2023 signing class with the signing of Jillian Williams.

Williams is coming off a senior season in which she hit .431 with 16 doubles, two home runs, 30 RBIs and a .484 on-base percentage. She was named to the Georgia AAAA All-State Team in addition to earning GHSA Region 4-4A Player of the Year honors.

"We look forward to adding Jillian to our strong 2023 recruiting class," Newell said. "She is a proven winner, playing for both a strong travel ball team (EC Bullets Schnute) and a strong high school team in Georgia (Whitewater). She is quick, gritty, athletic and versatile.  Jillian will give us a dependable glove on defense and is a tough out on offense."Â

Williams holds the Whitewater High School record for most doubles (16) and hits (47) in a single season and was named the Fayette County Hitter of the Year for her efforts as a senior. She finished her career with a .321 batting average, a .382 on-base percentage with 26 doubles, three home runs and 57 RBIs.Â

An all-around athlete for the Wildcats, Williams was an all-area selection in flag football and also competed in golf and swimming.Â
