Troy Athletics Launches NIL Marketplace with Opendorse

TROY, Ala. – Troy Athletics has partnered with Opendorse to provide a dedicated name, image and likeness (NIL) marketplace for its student-athletes. The Troy Marketplace, TroyTrojans.com/NILMarketplace, is designed primarily to help increase access to NIL opportunities for businesses and individuals interested in working with Trojan student-athletes.
Trojan fans, brands, sponsors and donors can browse, book, pitch and pay any Troy student-athlete for NIL activities in one compliant platform built specifically for the athletes' needs.
"From the forefront of the NIL movement, we wanted to ensure that Troy student-athletes had every opportunity to be successful when it came to marketing their personal brand," Director of Athletics Brent Jones said. "Our student-athletes have the most powerful tool in the NIL space at their fingertips to maximize their NIL potential. Additionally, the Opendorse Marketplace is an effective means for donors, fans and businesses to operate in the NIL space while supporting Troy's student-athletes in a compliant manner."
Through the Troy Marketplace, every Trojan student-athlete can create an Opendorse profile, which they can customize and promote to fans on their personal social media channels. When offered a NIL deal, athletes receive a notification through the Opendorse app, where they can choose to accept and complete the opportunity. Once completed, the student-athlete immediately receives compensation to their account and can automatically disclose their activity to Troy Athletics.
