TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's soccer program released its official 2022 schedule with six home matches and 12 on the road, highlighted by a trip to Texas Tech and the South Alabama Tournament, head coach Robert Lane announced Wednesday afternoon.
"I'm very excited for the upcoming fall schedule," Lane said. "The slate of nonconference matches challenges us and prepares us for what will be very competitive Sun Belt League play. The excitement to return to the field is at an all-time high."
Troy opens its regular season against its lone power-five opponent in Texas Tech (Aug. 18) after two exhibition games at Samford (Aug. 7) and home against Montevallo (Aug. 12).
The road trip continues for the remainder of nonconference play with Alabama A&M (Aug. 22) and the South Alabama Tournament against McNeese State (Aug. 25) and North Alabama (Aug. 28). Finally, Mercer (Sept. 1) and Jacksonville State (Sept. 11) welcome the Trojans to conclude the team's longest road trip of six matches.
The regular-season home opener comes on Sept. 18, alongside the program's conference opener against Georgia Southern. After that, the rest of the Trojans' conference schedule goes back and forth between home and away, with defending champs South Alabama (Sept. 22) as their first SBC road opponent.
After a home match against Arkansas State (Sept. 25) and on the road with Georgia State (Oct. 2), Troy has its inaugural conference matchup with both Old Dominion at home and at Southern Miss. (Oct. 9). Then, the Trojans return home for a familiar matchup with Texas State (Oct. 16) before the team travels to the Bayou State to face Louisiana (Oct. 20).
ULM ventures to Troy to conclude the Trojans' home schedule on Oct. 23 before they finish the regular season on the road against first-time SBC opponent James Madison (Oct. 27).
The Sun Belt Tournament begins just three days after the conclusion of the regular season from Oct. 30 - Nov. 5 at Foley, Ala.
