Troy Women’s Basketball Signs Jamila Nansikombi-Gunter

TROY, Ala. – The Troy Women's Basketball squad and head coach Chanda Rigby announced the addition of Jamila Nansikombi-Gunter Tuesday.
The 5'11'' guard comes to Troy out of Moberly Community College, where she helped lead the Lady Greyhounds to an at-large bid into the NJCAA Tournament.
"Jamila 'Zama' Nansikombi-Gunter is a fantastic addition to our roster," Rigby said. "She is fast and forceful moving towards the basket on offense, and her athleticism and intensity on defense causes problems for opponents. We are thrilled to have her!"
The Kampala, Uganda native was a first team all-region selection last season after averaging 12.0 points and 7.8 rebounds.
Nansikombi-Gunter shot an impressive 49-percent from the field, including 35-percent from behind the arc, and a sharp 74-percent from the charity stripe.
Behind Nansikombi-Gunter, Moberly finished the regular season at 25-4, earning the No. 2 seed in the Region 16 Tournament.
For the Trojans, she will suit up as No. 31 with two years of eligibility remaining.
