Mosley Selected to All-Sun Belt Second Team
5/23/2022 3:01:00 PM | Baseball
Mosley, who was selected to his first All-Sun Belt Team back in 2018 and for a second time in 2019 as an outfielder, is honored this season for his stellar play both in the outfield and on the mound.
"Rigsby making the all-conference team as a utility player is one of the prouder moments for me as a coach," head coach Skylar Meade said. "To be an all-conference and all-American player, then to become one of the best pitchers in the Sun Belt in just three months of work is truly incredible. He was already an all-time Trojan player, but adding this piece involving him as a pitcher will only add to his legacy historically."
This season, Mosley stepped onto the pitcher's mound for the first time in his Trojan career after starting 24 games in the outfield. Coming out of the bullpen, Mosley eventually became a weekend starter by the end of the season.
Starting nine games for Troy, Mosley held a 3.13 earned run average and was 3-0 during the regular season. In 46 innings pitched, the Maitland, Fla. native struck out 47 batters with only 11 walks while holding opposing hitters to a .196 batting average which was the lowest on the team.
He went a career-high 6.1 innings pitched against Coastal Carolina and struck out a career-high eight batters against Georgia State. He came out of the bullpen and earned his first save against Indiana.
Before stepping onto the mound, Mosley started the season as a regular in the outfield. He finished hitting .264 with two home runs and 16 RBIs. He finishes the year as the only Trojan to attempt double-digit steals with 12 and be successful in all 12 attempts.
On March 9, against Jacksonville State, Mosley became the all-time leader in doubles with 60 in his career. As a member of the Troy Baseball team for the past six seasons, where he has played in 231 games, making 218 starts, he has accumulated 793 at-bats, 251 hits, and nine triples. Two hundred fifty-one hits rank fifth at Troy, his nine triples are fourth-most, and with 793 at-bats, he sits fifth among the Trojan record books.
Mosley and the rest of Troy baseball will make their way to Montgomery for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Montgomery with their first game on Wednesday, May 25, at 9 a.m. against Coastal Carolina. Tickets can be purchased at Troytrojans.com/SBCBaseball
