Track and Field Returns to Auburn for War Eagle Invitational

TROY, Ala.- Troy track and field returns to the Hutsell-Rosen Track for the War Eagle Invitational from April 15-16, taking on 26 rosters.
The meet opens on Friday, April 15, at 2 p.m. with the women's hammer throw before ending on the men's 5000-meter at 8:05 p.m. Then, Saturday opens with the women's pole vault at 11 a.m., wrapping up the meet at 4:35 p.m. in the men's 4x400-meter relay.

31-Top Five Finishes at UAB
The Trojans enter Auburn on a roll, placing in the top five on 31 occasions at the UAB Green and Gold - Invite and Multi. In addition, both the men (115) and women (110) placed third overall in the meet.
Javon Osbourne had a day, taking home the gold twice and shattering the UAB Track and Field Complex facility record in the shot-put event. First, Osbourne placed first in the discus event, tossing a 53.43-meter throw over his 23 competitors. Then, at 17.02-meters, the freshman snapped the shot-put record by just under two meters (15.05-meters) for another gold.
Naveyh Frost got herself the gold in the women's 200-meter dash. The sprinter clocked in a time of 24.35 for first place. Not far behind her was Maya Kelly, coming in third with a time of 24.67.
Part Two in Auburn
Troy heads to Auburn for the second time this outdoor season, with the first taking place on March 18-19.
Edita Sklenska headlined the meet for Troy, breaking the program record in the women's 1500-meter. In her first career attempt, the junior wrote her name in the record books with a time of 4:25.02 - finished second.
Additionally, Alex Robinson showed out at the meet, having a team-high three podium finishes in the 100-meter, 4x100-meter, and 4x400-meter relay. In addition, Robinson set a personal record in the 100-meter at 10.53 for second place.
In the meet, Jaleel Gilbert, Jordan Mereus and Lauren Locke hoisted victories for Troy. Gilbert topped off a personal record in the 100-meter dash of 10.49 for first. Mereus posted a time of 54.00 en route to the gold for the 400-meter hurdles. Lastly, Locke dominated the 3000-meter steeple event, finishing with 11:30.64 for gold.
