Men's Tennis Hosts Pair of SBC Matches This Weekend

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team continues its four-match homestand to wrap up the regular season this weekend with a pair of Sun Belt Conference matches at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. The Trojans host UT Arlington on Saturday at 9 a.m. and No. 48 Louisiana on Sunday at 10 a.m.
Troy (13-9, 0-3 SBC) improved to 6-1 at home this season following its 7-0 victory over Alabama A&M on Thursday afternoon. Head coach Rolando Vargas rolled out a new-look doubles lineup for the match, and his squad responded with victories on both courts featuring the updated combos.
In singles, Troy has won 68 percent of its dual matches this year (83-39), paced by Vito Llinares' 17-4 record and Carles Anton's 16-5 mark. Additionally, freshman Noah Martens has put together a solid rookie campaign with a 15-6 mark split between courts three and four.
UTA (12-9, 1-3) defeated Georgia Southern by a 4-1 mark this past Sunday to snap a three-match losing skid, while Louisiana (17-2, 4-0) has lost to just No. 37 Oklahoma and UTSA this season.
