TROY, Ala. – Troy Softball looks to bounce back after a midweek loss with a three-game series against conference for Georgia Southern starting Friday at Eagle Field.

The Trojans (18-8, 4-2 Sun Belt) will hit the Peach State looking to extend their three-game win streak against the Eagles (7-14, 2-4 Sun Belt). First pitch Friday is set for 4 p.m.

Last season, Troy swept Georgia Southern to earn the program's best conference start and best overall start since 1995.

At the plate, Kelly Horne leads the Trojans, batting .415 with five doubles, seven home runs and 17 RBIs. The junior leads the nation averaging 1.15 walks per game.

Leanna Johnson paces the Troy pitching staff, boasting a 1.80 ERA and 146 strikeouts over 97.1 innings of work.

EYEING THE EAGLES:
The Eagles are 7-15 overall and 2-4 in the Sun Belt. Georgia Southern won the middle game of its three-game Sun Belt series with then-No. 23 Louisiana over the weekend.

Faith Shirley leads the Eagle offense batting .379 with seven doubles, seven home runs and 20 RBIs.

In the circle, Kastin Belogorska sees the majority of time in the circle, tallying a 5.57 ERA over 60.1 innings of work.
