Troy Softball Travels to NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – After taking the series over Coastal Carolina this past weekend, the Troy Softball team will complete its trip through the Carolinas with a Tuesday midweek tilt against NC State at the Dail Softball Stadium.

The Trojans (15-6, 2-1 Sun Belt) downed Coastal Carolina in the first two games of the series to clinch the first Sun Belt series win of the season.

Libby Baker (5-2) led the way in the circle for the Trojans, picking up 13 strikeouts in 11.1 innings of relief work.
Â
Baker also leads the Trojans offensively with 19 RBIs on the season. The sophomore dual threat is batting at a .367 clip with four doubles and five home runs. Kelly Horne boasts the best batting average on the team, just ahead of Baker with at .415. Horne averages 1.15 walks per game, the second-best mark in the nation.

PROWLING ON THE PACK:
NC State (19-6, 2-4 ACC) enters the midweek after dropping all three games in the series to No. 13 Duke. The Wolfpack started the season 13-1, marking the best start to a season in program history.

Logan Morris leads the team with a .478 batting average, a .899 slugging percentage, .554 on-base percentage, 18 runs, 27 RBI and 33 hits while being second on the team in homers (8).

Aisha Weiximann and Sam Gress split the majority of time the circle for NC State. The duo combined for 104 strikeouts and 14 wins over 104.2 innings of work.
