Troy Softball Sunday Contests at Carolina Classic Canceled

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Due to inclement weather in the Columbia, Troy Softball's game against No. 7 Virginia Tech and South Carolina have been canceled.

The Trojans (11-2) and Hokies (11-2) saw the contest halted in the top of the fourth inning as rain started coming down.

Troy struck first in the bottom of the opening frame when Libby Baker singled up the middle to score Jade Sinness, who drew a four-pitch walk to lead off the inning.

No. 7 Virginia Tech answered in the top of the second with an RBI single and a three-run home run.
Â
Both sides were held scoreless in the third before play was halted.

Troy's 12:30 p.m. matchup with host South Carolina was also cancelled.

The Trojans return to action on Friday in the LSU Invitational. Troy will kick off action against No. 21 LSU in doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. Â
