BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Trojans wrapped up the indoor regular season from the Birmingham CrossPlex, finishing with nine top-five finishes at the Bulldog open Saturday afternoon.
First, Naveyh Frost, after finishing third in qualifying Frost, was able to secure second place in the women's 60m dash with a time of 7.61 seconds which is her fastest time of the season.
For the third time this season, Julian Martin Rodgers finished top five in the men's 60m hurdles with a third-place finish coming in with a time of 8.18 seconds.
Troy had top-five finishes in both the men and women high jump events; first, Maja Kussner had her best performance of the season in the event with a 1.68m jump that was good enough for third place. Then, Jack Anderson followed her performance with a 1.95m jump, putting him in fifth place for his second top-five finish.
Javon Osbourne was able to secure the lone first-place finish for Troy. Osbourne's throw of 15.89m in the men's shot led the event, and it was his first time this season he had come in first place after a fifth and a second-place fish earlier in the year.
In the women's shot, Biniosa Ezukuse finished in fifth place for the second time this season with a 13.33m throw, which led three other Trojans in the event. Samara Nelson recorded her longest throw of the season in the women's weight throw at 16.66m which put her in fourth to round out the day.
Up next: The Trojans will be back in Birmingham for the Sun Belt Championship Monday, February 21 through Tuesday, February 22, to close out the indoor track and field season.
