Troy Celebrates 30th-Anniversary of the 258-Point Game with a Battle of the Trojans

TROY, Ala. – After defeating Arkansas State in a comeback thriller, 79-77, Troy enters the battle of the Trojans with Little Rock in Trojan Arena on Saturday.
Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. as the Trojans (17-7, 8-3 SBC) commemorate the 30th-anniversary of the Trojans' record-breaking game, where they scored 258 points on Jan. 12, 1992 - the most in NCAA history.
Thursday Night Thriller
Troy comes off a clutch victory over the Red Wolves, 79-77, behind a career-high five steals from Efe Odigie and a season-high six made 3-pointers from Desmond Williams.
Arkansas State put itself up by 10 points, 59-49, with 9:32 remaining off two points from Norchad Omier.
The Trojans fired back with a 12-4 run to bring the Red Wolves lead down to just one score, 63-61, on a huge make from the corner for Williams with 7:38 left in the ballgame.
A little over two minutes later, Duke Deen banged in another triple to propel the Trojans into the lead for the first time since the 15:55 mark of the first half, 66-65.
Despite a quick spurt back to the lead for the Red Wolves, 70-69, on two makes from Markise Eaton at the charity stripe; the Trojans launched a 7-2 burst to take their largest lead of the game, 76-72, with 1:01 remaining on a clutch step back from deep by "Dez."
With 1.7 seconds on the clock, Desi Sills tossed up a hail mary from deep, failing to convert as the Trojans completed the comeback, 79-77.
