SAN MARCOS, Texas – After a promising first-set win for Troy, the Trojans were unable to hold off Texas State as Troy fell to the Bobcats in four sets Saturday afternoon for the second consecutive night (25-19, 19-25,16-25 7-25).

Texas State (20-6, 12-2) continues its unbeaten run against Troy, with the victory having won 17 straight over the Trojans. The Bobcats had a season-high 11 service aces compared to the Trojan's four. Jada Gardner had a match-high 16 kills, with Emily DeWalt contributing 38 assists.
Set One: 11 total kills and a .147 hitting percentage was the highest in both categories for the Trojans. Troy would lead for most of the set, with Texas State only hitting .026 as the Trojans would eventually close out the set on a four-point run to go up in the match.
Set Two: Unfortunately, in set two, Texas State was able to take advantage and flip the score, evening the match. Trailing by two late in the set, Troy was never able to take advantage as the Bobcats went on their own four-point run to close out the second set and even the match.
Set Three: Texas State was in control for all of the third set after leading from the very first point and jumping out to a 6-0 lead. The Trojans did all they could to get back within three points before Texas State jumped out an eight points lead where they would finish the set-off winning by 11 and have the advantage heading into the fourth.
Set Four: The Trojans led 1-0, which would be their last match lead as the fourth set was all Texas State. The Trojans only saw seven points fall their way, making it their lowest total for a set all season. The Bobcats totaled 15 kills, hitting .652 on their way to sealing the victory.
Up Next: The Sun Belt regular season comes to a close with Troy and Georgia Southern matching up for a pair of matches next weekend from Statesboro as the Trojans look to get back on track.
