Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season at Georgia Southern

TROY, Ala. – Troy volleyball wraps up the regular season campaign as they get set to travel to Statesboro, Ga., to take on Georgia Southern in a two-game series beginning on Friday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. followed by the final regular season matchup on Saturday, Nov. 12 at noon with both matches streaming on ESPN+.
"We know this will be a very competitive weekend," head coach Josh Lauer said. "Both teams are looking to finish the regular season on a positive note and build momentum heading into the Sun Belt conference tournament."
The Trojans will be looking to get back into the win column after dropping two competitive matches to Texas State last weekend following a program-high nine-game win streak.
The Matchup: Troy (16-8, 10-2) vs. Georgia Southern (14-10, 6-6)
Where: Statesboro, Ga.
When: Friday, November 11 – 5 p.m.
Saturday, November 12 – 12 p.m.

The Trojans will be looking to improve their road record against the Eagles as they enter the weekend 2-9 playing in Hanner Fieldhouse. The Trojans haven't beaten Georgia Southern away since 2020.
Julia Brooks continues to produce both offensively and defensively this season. Brooks became the Trojan all-time leader in career total blocks last week, as she currently has 321 throughout her career. Her 31 solo blocks this season are the fourth most by a Trojan in a single season.
The St. Louis native also moved up the Troy career rankings in kills to ninth place as she has totaled 1097 in her four years at Troy.
Tori Hester has been one of the most prolific college volleyball players this season. Her 432 total kills rank 11th in the nation and currently are the ninth-most by a Trojan in a single season. Hester will be looking for her seventh straight double-double of the year, where she has 15 total to lead the Trojans.
Freshman Amiah Butler has been one of the top freshmen in the Sun Belt Conference. Butler currently leads all first-year students in kills with 301 and points with 328.5. Jaci Mesa, another freshman for the Trojans, leads the conference in digs with 279, and her 19 service aces are eighth most by a freshman.
Know Your Opponent:
Georgia Southern: The Eagles come into the weekend fourth in the east division, ranking 14th in points scored in the Sun Belt but rank first in opponent hitting percentage. With 161 service aces on the season, they are also the Sun Belt leaders in the category averaging 1.87 per set. The Eagles are 15-6 all-time against the Trojans.
