Trojans in The Hunt After One Day in Little Rock

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – The Troy University women's golf team fared well through 36 holes at the Little Rock Women's Golf Classic. The Trojans will enter the final day of competition on Tuesday in sixth place and 12 strokes behind the leader.
On Monday, newcomer Katelynn Altese led the way for the Trojans at the Diamante Country Club. She rebounded after a tough first round, where she shot a 79 with a stellar performance in round two. Altese would go on to net six birdies to record a 68. She will enter tomorrow's finale tied for 17th overall.
Elisabeth Preus made her season debut on Monday in Arkansas and is sitting in second among Troy players after 36 holes. Preus was steady in round one, netting a 72 score before faltering a little in round two. The returner would shoot a 76 and sits one stroke behind Altese for the team lead.
Freshman standout Laura Fangmeyer returned to action for another three rounds of golf in the state of Arkansas. The newcomer would net a 75 score through the first 18 holes before netting a 74 in round two. Fangmeyer would net four birdies in her last 18 holes.
ShaeLee Scarberry returned to the lineup on Monday in Hot Springs Village. Just four strokes separated the senior, and the team lead after two rounds of action. Scarberry finished the day with a 151, and during round two, she would net 16 pars.
Only five strokes separated the last place Trojan, Bruna Roquet, and Altese at the top of the leaderboard. Roqueta would shoot an uncomfortable 78 through her first 18 holes but would rebound with a 74 in round two. She ends day one tied for 40th overall.
