TROY, Ala. – The Troy University women's golf team is set to play in its second consecutive tournament in the state of Arkansas on Monday and Tuesday when they travel to Hot Springs Village to play in the Little Rock Women's Golf Classic.
The Little Rock Women's Golf Classic marks the fourth tournament of the early season for Troy. The Trojans have recorded 11th, third, and 10th-place finishes so far during the 2022-23 campaign.
ShaeLee Scarberry will look to continue her momentum into her next tournament. In the second round of the Lady Red Wolves Classic, the senior recorded the lowest round score in program history after shooting a 64. She would finish the event tied for seventh overall.
Katelynn Altese put together her best outing of the season in Jonesboro last week as she netted a 223 through three rounds at the Lady Red Wolves Classic. The newcomer was stellar through her first two rounds of golf but struggled on her last day of the tournament. She did, however, land two birdies on the front nine to help her overall score.
Troy is now able to get into the groove of a season after going almost a month in between tournaments one and two to begin the year. The six-day layover is the shortest amount of time between tournaments this season for the Trojans.
The teams joining the Trojans for the tournament include hosts Little Rock, Ball State, Georgia State, Houston Christian, Idaho State, Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Southern Indiana, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton State, Texas A&M Commerce, ULM, UT Arlington and Wichita State.
