Trio of Trojans Tabbed to Senior Bowl Watch List
Â
TROY, Ala. – The Senior Bowl Watch List was released this week and the initial offering from the game had a trio of Troy players on the tally with Carlton Martial, Austin Stidham and Reggie Todd  among the players selected.
Â
The Senior Bowl Watch List included Martial and Stidham despite the pair holding two years of eligibility remaining thanks to the 2020 season not counting towards the five-year clock, while Todd is in his last year of collegiate eligibility.
Â
Selected as a preseason All-American for the second straight season, Martial was recently named the No. 41 player in the country by Pro Football Focus after he led the nation in tackles last season and his combined total for the 2019 and 2020 seasons are also first nationally.Â
Â
A native of Mobile, Ala., Martial, who checks in at 5-foot-9, recorded 113 tackles in 2020 and has 239 tackles since the start of the 2019 season. He finished 2020 with 10.0 tackles for loss and was one of just nine players nationally to rank in the top 50 in both tackles and tackles for loss following the regular season. Martial broke up a trio of passes and intercepted Coastal Carolina's Grayson McCall (one of just two on the year) to set up a late go-ahead score for the Trojans in the season finale.
Â
A junior from Russellville, Ala., Stidham is coming off an All-Sun Belt First Team season in which he ranked fifth nationally with an 85.6 pass blocking grade (min. 400 pass blocking situations) from Pro Football Focus (PFF). In addition, he allowed just two sacks, one hit, eight hurries and 11 pressures in 451 pass-blocking situations.
Â
Called for just one penalty in his 742 total snaps played, Stidham was Troy's highest-graded offensive player per PFF. He played his best football down the stretch allowing just two pressures the last five games of the year combined. He was a leader on an offensive line that ranked second nationally per PFF with a 93.0 pass-blocking efficiency rating (teams at least 300 pass attempts).
Â
Todd led Troy and ranked ninth in the Sun Belt with six touchdown receptions a season ago and earned a spot on the All-Sun Belt Team as an honorable mention selection. The Mobile, Ala., native caught five of his touchdowns in October, which tied for the fifth most in the country. He finished the year with 43 catches for 530 yards and led Troy with a 12.3 yards-per-catch average.
Â
He ranked third in the Sun Belt with 13 catches on third down and three touchdowns on third down, and his 12 first down catches in third-down situations led the league and ranked 12th nationally.
