Sun Belt Announces Men’s Basketball Conference Schedule

TROY, Ala. – Featuring a matchup with the reigning west division champions on opening day, the Sun Belt Conference announced the league's 18-game men's basketball conference schedule Tuesday.
The Trojans will kick off their conference campaign making a visit to the west division champions, Texas State, on Dec. 30.
"I am very excited about the 2021-22 Sun Belt Conference schedule," head coach Scott Cross said. "I do believe the Sun Belt will be the most competitive it has ever been during my time in this league because just about every team in the league has an improved roster filled with talent. I cannot wait to get it started and look forward to competing for a Sun Belt Championship."
The Trojans will begin 2022 with a visit to UT Arlington, before they return home for a pair of matchups Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State (Jan. 6-8).
The homestand continues the following weekend (Jan. 13-15) when Georgia Southern and Georgia State enter Trojan Arena. Saturday's matchup with Georgia State will be a doubleheader with the women's squad.
After hitting the road for a pair against ULM and Louisiana (Jan. 20-22), the Trojans will travel down to rival South Alabama (Jan. 27). The Jags will make the return visit two days later on Saturday, Jan. 29.
To open the month of February, Troy heads to the Peach State to square off against Georgia State and Georgia Southern (Feb. 3-5).
The Trojans will see west division foes Arkansas State and Little Rock on Feb. 10-12 inside Trojan Arena before trekking to Appalachian State and Coastal Carolina for the final road trip of the regular season (Feb. 17-19).
The regular season comes to a close with one last weekend in front of the Trojan faithful when UT Arlington and Texas State making the return trip to Trojan Arena on Feb. 24-26.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, all 12 Sun Belt teams will convene in Pensacola, Fla. for the Sun Belt Tournament March 3-7. Each game of the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Tournament will be played at the Pensacola Bay Center.
