Horne Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

TROY, Ala. – Troy Softball's Kelly Horne has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Monday.

Horne represented the Trojans on the District Four squad, which includes schools from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Puerto Rico.

The Tallahassee, Fla. native, has proven she does her job both inside the classroom and on the playing field. Horne graduated in May with a stellar 3.83 GPA and her bachelor's degree in Sport Management. She will begin her master's degree in Sport Management this fall.

The cleanup hitter batted at .372 with a team-leading 18 doubles, eight home runs and 48 RBIs. Horne set Troy's single-season on-base percentage record (.495) and also ranks inside the top-10 in doubles, RBIs, batting average, slugging percentage (.655) and walks (32).

Horne will return to the diamond to utilize her final two years of eligibility in the upcoming 2022 season.
