Three Trojans Earn Gold On Final Day of SBC Championships

MOBILE, Ala. – Three Trojans stood atop the podium on the final day of the 2021 Sun Belt Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Mobile. Titus Sizemore (high jump), Gemma Finch (800m) and Matthew Likely (200m) all earned gold on day three.

Sizemore tied a school record to complete Troy's sweep in the high jump with a mark of 2.16m while Likely showed his dominance in the 200m with a time of 20.44. Finch took the top spot in the 800m with a time of 2:07.98.

Likely leaves Mobile with three medals around his neck, having also been a part of Troy's silver-medal winning 4x100 and 4x400. The senior also placed fourth in the 100m dash, .001 shy of yet another podium finish.

Edita Sklenska rounded out a 1-2 finish in the women's 800m for the Trojans with a silver medal while Donisha Jeanty took sixth to take three more points in the event.

Troy had a strong day in the relays with silvers in the men's 4x100 and 4x400 as well as the women's 4x400.

Jordan Wallace picked up two points for the Trojan men with a seventh-place mark in the triple jump while Austin Snyder secured another point after finishing eighth in the discus. Samara Nelson earned two points on the women's side with a seventh-place mark in the discus.

Cadi Rowe (1500m), Latrell Murray (400H) and Gracie Booher (5000m) also all earned points individually for the Trojans.

Both the men's and women's squads finished in sixth place in the team race. The Trojan men tallied 80 points while the women posted 71.
