Troy Earns Five All-Conference Selections

TROY, Ala. – Highlighted by a league-best four First Team All-Conference members, Troy notched five total all-conference selections for the first time since 2012, the league office announced Monday.
Leanna Johnson, Katie Webb, Katie Lively and Jade Sinness were all dubbed as First Team All-Conference selections while Kelly Horne premiered as the top Second Team All-Conference member.
It's the third consecutive year that the Trojans have placed multiple members on the all-conference team.
Johnson notched her second consecutive First Team All-Conference selection after being tabbed a member back in 2019. The righty leads the Sun Belt Conference with a 1.60 overall ERA and ranks second with a 1.39 conference ERA. The sophomore also leads the league in strikeouts (235), opposing batting average (.163) and innings pitched (162.1).
Webb also garnered her second consecutive first team selection after batting at an impressing .403 clip inside league play. The Salem, Ala. native, ranks fourth in batting average, third in slugging percentage (.746) and second in on-base percentage (.506) inside conference action. On the season, the senior has recorded 15 doubles, five home runs and 32 RBIs.
After receiving her first preseason nod, Lively receives her first postseason recognition from the conference. The lefty leads the Sun Belt in RBIs inside league play with 20. On the season, the outfielder is batting at .329 with 10 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 37 RBIs.
Sinness, the lefty leadoff slugger, garners her first career all-conference award, rounding out Troy's first team selections. The freshman has led the Trojans in home runs for the past two seasons, this season with eight, and ranks fifth in Troy's single-season runs scored records with 48. On the season, Sinness is batting at a .348 mark with 14 doubles and 31 RBIs.
Lastly, Horne reigns as the top player on the 2021 Second Team All-Conference team. The cleanup hitter leads the league with 14 walks in conference play. Horne has recorded a team-high 40 RBIs and ranks fifth nationally with 16 doubles. The second baseman bats at a .364 mark with five home runs on the season.
Troy's Sun Belt Conference Tournament run will kick start on Wednesday, May 12th at 3 p.m. The Trojans are set to play the sixth-seeded UT Arlington Mavericks.
