Troy Hosts Jacksonville State in Midweek Rivalry Tilt

TROY, Ala. – Troy closes out its four-game home stint with an old-school rivalry tilt Tuesday against Jacksonville State. First pitch between the Trojans and Gamecocks is set for 6 p.m. at Riddle-Pace Field.

The Trojans look to avenge last week's 6-1 midweek defeat at the hands of the Gamecocks in Jacksonville. Troy is coming off a weekend sweep over App State that included Troy's first run-rule victory since 2018.
Donovan Whibbs returned to action in Sunday's doubleheader against the Mountaineers after missing eight games due to injury. The second baseman went 7-for-9 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs across the two games, including a career-high four hits in game two.
Drew Frederic is now Troy's all-time hits leader after beating out the throw for an infield single in the series finale. The shortstop also blasted two three-run homers on the day to bring his career hits total to 278, two ahead of Adam Bryant's (2008-11) 276.
Dalton Sinquefield and Rigsby Mosley have found their footing over the last ten games, hitting .400 and .316, respectively, over the stretch.
Kyle Gamble will make his fourth start of the season against the Gamecocks. The lefty has a 2-2 mark on the year and hasn't allowed a run in five of his last seven outings.
