Troy Track Finds Success at Jaguar Opener

MOBILE, Ala. – The Troy men's and women's track programs found success Friday afternoon at the Jaguar Invitational hosted by South Alabama.
The Troy men's track program finished in solo second place, just four points behind first place South Alabama. On the women's side, the Trojans finished just a half point behind the Jaguars for second place, and just 19 points behind Tulane.
Key performances on the women's side included Gemma Finch (4:36.58), Lauren Locke (4:42.75) and Cadi Rowe (4:44.42) finishing first second and third in the 1500m, and sprinter Precious Ogba finishing first in the 100m (12:05). Edita Sklenska and Tanner Guest built on their strong indoor seasons, finishing one-two in the women's 800m.
On the men's side, Blake Vaughn impressed in the 1500m, placing first (4:02.69), while Chance Armstrong (49.21) and Reuben Dotson (49.52) finished less than a second apart in the men's 400m to take home the top-two spots. In the men's 800m the Trojans placed the top-five finishers and seven of the top eight.
Troy returns to action next Friday, when they again head to Mobile to take part in the Jaguar Invitational.
