STATESBORO, Ga. – The Troy men's golf team finished in 13th place at the Schenkel Invitational as play concluded Sunday at the Forest Heights Country Club. Will McFadden led the Trojans individually finishing in a tie for 10th place overall.
McFadden, who shot under par in each of the first two rounds, carded a 4-over 76 in Sunday's final round with three birdies; he finished the weekend with an even-par 216. McFadden's 11 birdies over the weekend were tied for the ninth most in the field.
No. 21 NC State ran away with the team title winning by 27 shots over No. 40 Georgia Southern, while Furman, Florida Gulf Coast and East Tennessee State rounded out the top five.
Playing as an individual, Ryan Morrison shot Troy's second-best round of the day with a 2-over 74 to climb into a tie for 68th place overall. A trio of his teammates were close by as Nicklas Borrmann tied for 61st place, Brent Hamm tied for 64th and George Burch tied for 68th place. Jarrod Johnson rounded out the field for Troy in 80th place.
Troy returns to action March 29-30 at The National Intercollegiate in Greensboro, Ga.
