McFadden Shoots 3-Under to Lead Troy at The Schenkel

STATESBORO, Ga. – Will McFadden carded four birdies en route to a 3-under 69 to lead Troy in Friday's opening round of the Schenkel Invitational at the Forest Heights Country Club. The Trojans are tied for 11th place as a team at 10-over par.
Troy started from the 10th tee on Friday and McFadden made the turn at 1-over par after eight straight pars and a bogey on the par-5 18th. He responded in a big way with four birdies on the back nine including a run of three straight on the fifth through seventh holes. McFadden is tied for sixth place overall.
The Trojans are tied with Rutgers and lead No. 38 Kentucky by three shots. No. 21 NC State shot 16-under and holds a three-shot lead over No. 40 Georgia Southern at the top of the leaderboard.
Brent Hamm and George Burch both shot a 4-over 76 with four birdies each to sit tied for 58th place, while Nicklas Borrmann is tied for 67th place at 5-over par. Jarrod Johnson and Ryan Morrison are tied for 78th place at 9-over.
Troy, Rutgers and Memphis will join together for Saturday's second record which will see the threesomes open on No. 10 beginning at 8 a.m. (CT).
