Notes: Women's Basketball Heads To Atlanta For Battle With Georgia State

TROY, Ala. – Troy women's basketball will head to Atlanta as it prepares for the first of three meetings this week against Georgia State. The Trojans and Panthers will meet once in Atlanta on Tuesday at 1 p.m. (CT) before heading back to Troy to play again on Friday and Saturday.

Robinson is ranked fourth in the SBC in assists per game (3.8) while Hartsfield is ranked 5th (3.6). Troy is the only team in the league with two players ranked in the top 5 in assists per game.

SIX TROJANS AVERAGING DOUBLE-DIGITS
As part of being a top 5 scoring offense in the country is having a lot of players who can score. This season Troy has SIX players averaging at least 10 points per game. Leading the charge is Alexus Dye (15.9), followed by Tiyah Johnson (13.6), Felmas Koranga (12.7), Jasmine Robinson (10.2), Janiah Sandifer (10.1) and Tyasia Moore (10.0).

Alexus Dye has been the top player in the Sun Belt Conference and one of the best players in the country. Through 19 games she has earned a nation best 16 double-doubles. The senior is currently the only player in the Sun Belt averaging a double-double, while leading the conference in rebounding (12.5 per game) and ranking second in scoring (15.9 ppg). Dye is also leading the SBC in defensive boards per game (8.9), field goals made (135), FG% (51.5) and total rebounds (238). Nationally, Dye ranks 6th in defensive boards, 22nd in made field goals, 52nd in field goal percentage, 142nd in ppg, 3rd in total rebounds and 3rd in boards per game.

The Trojans have made rebounding their thing ever since Chanda Rigby took over the program nine years ago. After leading the NCAA in rebounds per game average each of the last three seasons, Troy once again finds themselves alone in the top spot. Troy is averaging an NCAA best 51.3 rebounds per game. Troy is the only school in the country averaging at least 50 rebounds per game. The Trojans also lead the NCAA in total rebounds with 975 and in defensive rebounding (32.7 rpg) while ranking 2nd in offensive boards per game (18.6).
